Community Energy for Multi-unit Residential Buildings

There is a growing need for residential buildings to provide a measure of self-sufficiency and resilience to occupants. Community-scale energy systems can provide these and further benefits including lower energy costs and reduced GHG emissions. The research presented at this event provide a detailed review of geothermal/geoexchange for MURBs, case studies of Canadian combined heat and power (CHP) systems, and an analysis of the viability of CHP under the most recent electricity grid emissions factors provided by the Building Code.
