Van Horne Construction Ltd. has been chosen to build the new JK to Grade 12 school at the site of the current Parry Sound High School by the Parry Sound build committee. The committee chose the contractor at its June 22 meeting after the province agreed to up funding, once again, this time to $54.8 million. The recommendation now goes to the full Near North District School Board for consideration. A special summer meeting is set for June 27.
The long-delayed project will close the current high school in Parry Sound plus McDougall Township’s two elementary schools, Nobel and McDougall, and includes child care and Early Years space.
