OTTAWA, ON – May 29, 2018 – The Canada Green Building Council and its National Conference and Showcase partner REALPAC are pleased to bring CaGBC’s Building Lasting Change this year with WorldGBC Congress to Toronto from June 5 to 7, at the Beanfield Centre. The 2018 Building Lasting Change with WorldGBC Congress program examines what is happening in Canada and around the world to meet aggressive international carbon emissions targets through innovative solutions and transformative leadership in the building industry.
This year not only marks the 10th anniversary of Canada’s largest green building industry event, but the first time the WorldGBC Congress has been hosted in Canada. Each year, the multi-day WorldGBC Congress is hosted by a different green building council with the goal of bringing green building councils from Europe, Africa, Middle East and North Africa, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific together to share advancements in their joint mission to transform the built environment globally. The WorldGBC International Stream of Building Lasting Change will feature insights from the world’s green building leaders and experts in sessions that include Advancing Net Zero, Data-Driven Case Studies to Showcase Best Practices in Healthy Offices, and Affordable Green: Solutions and Opportunities for Social and Low-Income Housing.
With a focus on reducing carbon emissions and innovation, the CaGBC is hosting a pre-conference Zero Carbon Buildings Summit on June 5. The Summit will feature technical education and updates about CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Building Standard and Pilot Projects. Zero carbon buildings are also in focus during the main conference program, running June 6-7, with a full stream of education titled Moving Toward Zero Carbon.
