MarShield offers a premium line of customizable, lead lined, metal and wood veneer doors and hollow metal frames. These lead lined doors and frames are a crucial nuclear medicine solution for protecting employees and patients from dangerous radiation emissions from therapy rooms, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), and x-ray rooms.
Our lead lined doors are designed and constructed with the highest quality craftsmanship and materials available. These shielding sliding doors and frames are built for the healthcare industry with commercial-grade hardware and an engineered designed framing system. They are manufactured to meet the lead requirements and weight capacity for the sliding track and hardware in new and retrofit applications. These doors are designed to be heavy-duty and withstand daily use without chipping and cracking. They can also be manufactured to have an aesthetically pleasing, architectural designed appearance that fits into your facility.
MarShield doors are designed to support the extra weight from sheet lead, however, their strength will not undermine their appearance or radiation protection. The frames are designed to support the lead-lined doors and provide a lead-lined interface between the door and the lead-lined wall in the adjacent walls. The doors are attached to the studs in the walls using techniques that ensure the door is secured enough to prevent radiation shielding leakage. Adequate hinging is required to carry the heavy loads imposed by the lead lining. MarShield provides fully welded form or knock-down style frames, but we recommend a welded style.
