IAPMO accepting comments to petitions filed relating to UMC TIA 009-18 and UMC TIA 001-21

In accordance with the IAPMO Regulations Governing Committee Projects, IAPMO is accepting responses to two petitions filed with the petitions clerk, which relate to the Standards Council decisions to deny UMC TIA 009-18 and UMC TIA 001-21 to the 2018 and 2021 editions of the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®).

Interested parties can view the petitions and the council decisions here.

Both proposed TIA’s would revise text in the 2018 and 2021 editions of the UMC, Section 1109.2 (Joints), Section 1109.7 (Pipe Enclosure), and Table 1701.1 (Referenced Standards) regarding press-connect joints for refrigeration piping.

Responses should comply with Section 7-2 of the Regulations Governing Petitions to the Board of Directors from Decisions of the Standards Council, which can be found here.

Responses to the petitions must be filed with the petitions clerk by no later than April 8 at gaby.davis@iapmo.org. Please contact Gaby Davis or Hugo Aguilar at hugo.aguilar@iapmo.org for any questions.
