The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) has officially launched SignaSur™, a digital contract lifecycle management platform designed specifically for Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) and CCA contracts, forms and documents used across Canada’s construction industry.
Launched October 27, 2026, SignaSur provides a digital environment for accessing, completing, executing and managing trusted CCA and CCDC construction documents.
Four years in development, the platform responds to industry demand for a more streamlined digital approach to working with standard construction contracts and documents.
SignaSur is designed to modernize the process surrounding CCA and CCDC documents without changing the underlying documents themselves.
“SignaSur is the result of four years of hard work, collaboration and listening to the construction industry about what a modern contract experience should look like,” said Rodrigue Gilbert, President of the Canadian Construction Association.
Gilbert said the objective was to improve how contractors work with CCDC and CCA documents while maintaining the trust, consistency and integrity associated with them.
The platform supports multiple stages of the construction contract lifecycle, from document creation through execution and ongoing management.
SignaSur brings several contract-related processes into one digital environment.
The platform supports project and contract information, collaboration between users, electronic signatures, document tracking and visibility into document versions.
The digital copyright seal is also incorporated directly into the SignaSur workflow.
Together, these capabilities are intended to provide contractors and other construction industry users with a more streamlined way to manage standard construction documents throughout the contract process.
The national launch follows an extensive development, education and testing process involving the Canadian Construction Association, its partner associations and authorized CCA document outlets across Canada.
Multiple document outlets participated in onboarding and national testing before SignaSur’s full launch.
The development process was also informed by years of feedback from CCA and CCDC document users seeking a more digital way to work with the industry’s standard contracts and forms.
SignaSur is available through participating authorized CCA document outlets across Canada.
Users can locate an authorized outlet through SignaSur and then visit the participating outlet’s online storefront to enroll and purchase the CCDC and CCA documents they require.
The authorized outlets continue to provide customers with a familiar point of contact for purchasing documents, while SignaSur provides the digital environment where those documents can be completed and managed.
The launch is particularly significant because it comes ahead of a broader transition in how CCA and CCDC standard construction documents are distributed.
Effective December 31, 2026, sales of traditional CCA and CCDC standard construction documents will be discontinued.
The exception is CCDC 9 statutory declaration seals, which will continue to be available.
The change makes SignaSur an important part of the industry’s transition toward digital management of standard construction contracts and documents.
While the way users interact with the documents is changing, CCA emphasizes that SignaSur does not change the construction contracts themselves.
“Construction contracts are foundational to every project, and the documents themselves are not changing because of SignaSur,” Gilbert said. “What is changing is the experience around them.”
According to Gilbert, the platform is intended to improve collaboration, communication and contract execution through a digital workflow.
Standardized CCA and CCDC documents are widely used throughout Canada’s construction industry, making the move toward digital contract lifecycle management a notable change for contractors and other organizations that rely on them.
By bringing document creation, collaboration, electronic signatures, tracking and contract management into a digital environment, SignaSur represents a new approach to how Canadian construction professionals interact with these established industry documents.
With traditional sales of most CCA and CCDC standard documents scheduled to end at the close of 2026, contractors and other document users will increasingly need to become familiar with the new digital process.
SignaSur is now available through participating authorized CCA document outlets across Canada.
