On October 16th, over 120 industry leaders gathered at Limberlost Place in Toronto for the sold-out Building Transformations 2025 Innovation Spotlight Awards – a night dedicated to celebrating technological excellence and innovation in the built environment.
Held in Ontario’s first mass timber, net-zero carbon institutional building, the awards show offered a dynamic evening of live music, gourmet cuisine, and meaningful networking in a space symbolic of the future of sustainable construction.
This year marked a milestone with the introduction of three new award categories – Collaborative Project, Digital Transformation, and Members’ Choice – as well as a more efficient nomination process. With 10 award categories and 30 outstanding nominees, the event recognized the full range of digital transformation efforts reshaping the construction and infrastructure sectors.
Nominees represented groundbreaking work in areas such as automation, smart cities, parametric design, common data environments, and integrated digital workflows – highlighting how digital tools are driving measurable change in project delivery and performance.

Special thanks were given to Arcadis, Buttcon, and table sponsors such as DPR Construction, American Global, Plan Group, and WSP for their continued support of innovation. Awards presenters, evaluators, and chair Walid Anane were also recognized for their dedication to industry progress.
A highlight of the event was the Innovation Spotlight Awards trophy, designed by CIMS, symbolizing Canada’s evolving technological landscape. Combining digital fabrication with traditional craftsmanship, the design reflects the fusion of innovation and heritage at the heart of modern construction.
As the industry continues to transform, Building Transformations remains committed to honoring excellence and inspiring collaboration across Canada’s digital built environment.
