Faber Connect, a leading technology platform that links tradespeople directly with construction companies, has announced the successful acquisition of Prime Staffing, Edmonton’s premier construction staffing provider. Completed in June 2025, the acquisition immediately drove results, including a 70% reduction in operating costs, highlighting Faber’s innovative approach to transforming construction recruitment.
Founded in 1978, Prime Staffing has long been recognized as Alberta’s top staffing partner, placing over 12,000 skilled tradespeople with businesses across the province. By integrating Prime Staffing’s established expertise with Faber’s software-driven model, the company has tapped into Alberta’s largest pool of ready-to-work labourers while modernizing recruitment processes.
Faber’s platform eliminates traditional brick-and-mortar costs, such as physical offices and paper-based timesheets, replacing them with digital efficiency through its proprietary fulfillment algorithm and cloud-based platform. All Prime Staffing employees and clients now interact seamlessly through Faber’s software, streamlining operations while delivering faster, smarter connections between trades and construction companies.
“By combining our innovative platform with Prime Staffing’s market expertise, this acquisition not only proves that our model works—it also shows how our software can power an established business at a fraction of the operating costs,” said Sebastian Jacob, CEO and cofounder of Faber.
The acquisition also strengthens Faber’s leadership team, with Matthias Friedel, formerly Prime Staffing’s General Manager, now serving as Market Manager of Edmonton. “Joining Faber has allowed us to modernize our approach and bring greater value to clients,” Friedel said. “The benefits were immediate, with improved efficiency and stronger pathways for connecting tradespeople and companies.”
According to John Reid, CRO and cofounder of Faber, the success of integrating Prime Staffing reinforces Faber’s role as a leader in construction recruitment. “Our growing customer base is the foundation we need to accelerate expansion into new markets, creating long-term value for both investors and clients,” he noted.
With the acquisition, Faber is poised for nationwide growth, planning to expand across Canadian cities over the next 12 months. Backed by investor confidence and strong demand for skilled trades, Faber’s tech-driven recruitment model is proving to be a scalable, future-ready solution for the construction industry. By combining digital innovation with decades of staffing expertise, Faber is reshaping how tradespeople and construction companies connect—delivering efficiency, cost savings, and long-term growth.
