Troy Maeder of Automated Logic named to the CABA Board of Directors

The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Troy Maeder, Director of Strategy and Business Development for Automated Logic Corporation, part of Carrier Global Corporation, to the CABA Board of Directors. CABA is an international nonprofit industry association dedicated to the advancement of connected home and intelligent building technologies.

Troy Maeder is the Director of Strategy and Business Development, and he works at Automated Logic’s corporate headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia (Atlanta suburb).  Troy has worked in the building automation industry his entire career (36+ years), starting with MCC Powers. In 1986, he became co-owner of a new contracting business doing building automation, which was sold in 1989, at which point he joined Automated Logic Corporation. He has had the opportunity to serve a wide range of roles throughout his career at Automated Logic, including: District Sales Engineer, Branch Manager, National Accounts Manager, launching and leading the OEMCtrl brand division, Director of Operations, Director of R&D, and then Director of Product Management prior to his current role leading global strategy development and business alliance initiatives. Troy holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Carrier and Automated Logic Corporation recently funded two CABA Landmark Research Projects, in conjunction with other leading companies and associations in the connected buildings industry. The first research project, Intelligent Building Energy Management Systems, will examine the in-depth challenges and opportunities associated with energy management systems in intelligent buildings. The next research project, Intelligent Buildings and COVID-19, will provide actionable information on how building technologies can be leveraged to create safer, healthier and more productive work environments in buildings post-pandemic. Troy Maeder will serve as a member of the Steering Committees for both projects.

“CABA is extremely fortunate to welcome an outstanding individual with more than three decades of experience in the building automation industry,” said Ron Zimmer, CABA President & CEO. “Troy has a unique vantage point on the development of opportunities within the connected buildings technologies sector, having served in a variety of industry leadership roles.”

“CABA has been a steady, driving force for thought leadership in the residential and commercial buildings space for over 30 years,” said Troy Maeder. “With the expansion of IoT technologies in the world around us, we’re at a critical and exciting crossroads in our industry.  Proper research, collaboration, and thought leadership will be key to ensuring the right values are being delivered for customers, and CABA is very much engaged in leading that charge.  And with this appointment, Carrier and Automated Logic are proud to be an active participant in this effort.”
