SAIT to launch Introduction to High Performance Homes course in February 2021

Canada’s commitment to making homes and buildings more energy efficient will continue to grow in coming years to meet national net-zero energy and emissions goals. This has increased opportunities for the residential construction industry to meet current and emerging energy performance standards and building code requirements.

SAIT’s High Performance Residential Design and Construction Program introduces residential design and construction principles, methods, and technologies for building high-performance homes. Develop leading industry knowledge of building science principles, metrics for verifying performance, and prevailing rating and verification systems. Gain hands-on experience in detailing methods and best practices for constructing high-performance homes.

This program is ideal for professionals in the residential construction industry, including architects, designers, engineers, site managers, and trades. It will build upon your existing knowledge of home design and construction to meet current provincial and national building code energy requirements.

SAIT launches a fully online Introduction to High Performance Homes course in February 2021 as part of our High Performance Residential Design and Construction Program, developed through funding from Alberta Innovates. What does it take to make a home comfortable, sustainable, and high performing? Join us for two in depth sessions looking at these questions, and gain a greater understanding how sustainable and high-performance practices are being applied to residential homes.
