Hytera Canada launches Push-to-Talk over Cellular Radio System

Hytera Canada, the market-leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative two-way radio communications technology, is officially unveiling Hytera HALO Nationwide Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) system, along with three new PoC devices.  Hytera HALO Nationwide utilizes the 3G/4G/LTE cellular infrastructure of Canadian Mobile Network Operators to deliver nationwide coverage and bandwidth for voice, data, and video communications. Hytera HALO uses existing cellular networks to enable rapid deployments with lower costs compared to traditional radio systems with expensive infrastructure.

Hytera’s PoC devices include the PNC380S PoC Radio, the VM780 PoC Body Camera and Radio, and the PNC550 PoC Smartphone.  All the devices are  purpose built for business communications, and feature long-life Li-Ion polymer batteries, large loudspeakers and noise cancellation for quality audio in loud environments, built-in GPS, and high-resolution cameras for sharing images and video.  They also feature built-in Bluetooth for connectivity to earpieces, and built-in Wi-Fi for Push-to-Talk over Wi-Fi calling while in buildings that seamlessly switches between Wi-Fi and cellular LTE networks.

The PNC380S PoC radio is designed for a mobile workforce that requires wide-area connectivity with instantaneous push-to-talk group calling. A dash-mounted car kit is available with an external speaker and palm microphone for safe and legal use while driving, and the PNC380S can be easily removed from the car kit to be used on the jobsite. The PNC380S features built-in Bluetooth for earpieces and external push-to-talk devices. A TFT LCD display provides high-resolution visibility even under bright daylight and supports an easy-to-use GUI menu system with clean and simple navigation.

The VM780 is a PoC Bodycam and radio in a single device that supports HD video, audio calls, and instant group and individual calls over nationwide 3G/4G/LTE or Wi-Fi networks.  The VM780 records and streams high-resolution MP4/1080P video and features a 216o rotatable camera with a wide-angle field of view.  It also supports automatic night vision to capture evidence in darkness or low-light conditions. Video can be streamed real-time back to a dispatch center over cellular or Wi-Fi networks, and VM780 features H.265 high-efficiency video compression technology to reduce streaming bandwidth and data plan costs. Video can also be stored on the VM780 and downloaded at end of shift using the optional six-unit charging station that also provides data connectivity for video transfer.  Up to eighteen units can simultaneously download video to one PC.  Software applications are available for the transferring, storing, and organizing vast amounts of AES256 encrypted video data that follows evidence handling procedures.

The PNC550 PoC smartphone combines the advantages of a smartphone with the ruggedness, enhanced audio quality, and instant Push-to-Talk group communications of a professional PoC device.  It supports Push-to-Talk individual and group calling and regular phone calls.  The PNC550 features front and rear facing HD cameras, and dual SIM cards for flexibility and access for two network access plans, one for PoC and the other for a cellular plan or data-only plan.  The PNC550 is fully ruggedized for shock and vibration, dust, and full submersion in water, and features a 5-inch, multi-touch Gorilla Glass display that supports wet touch and glove touch operation.

The Hytera HALO PoC communications solution features a powerful dispatch application that provides a simple and easy-to-use interface for efficient voice and video group calling, sharing images and text, and GPS route tracking and geofencing.  Dynamic group calls can be quickly created with a simple list selection or geographically by selecting an area on the dispatch map.

“The Hytera HALO Push-to-Talk over Cellular system is the most advanced PoC radio network with nationwide coverage over cellular LTE and Wi-Fi networks”, said Alla Huang, President of Hytera Canada.  “The rugged and compact Hytera PoC devices enable instant group voice and video calling, and fast deployments with zero infrastructure costs.”
