Canadian Concrete Expo draws largest number of attendees, exhibitors to date

2020 Show Productions broke records in the number of attendees, the number of exhibitors, the amount of exhibit space, and the number of conferences at the 2020 Canadian Concrete Expo. Exhibitor space has grown by 50 per cent compared to the 2019 show since the show’s first year and the number of exhibitors has grown by 29 per cent year over year.

“The growth that the show has experienced year over year since the inaugural show in 2018 demonstrates that we are officially Canada’s national concrete construction trade show,” says Stuart Galloway, President, 2020 Show Productions. “Also, the number of media outlets present at the show more than doubled year over year. Putting exhibitors in close contact with so many publications that are interested in concrete is a significant marketing bonus to our exhibitors,” says Galloway.

Canadian Concrete Expo featured diverse and quality products services, equipment, and technologies designed for the concrete and general construction markets, such as safety equipment, formworks, ready-mix suppliers, equipment dealers, trucks, loaders, mobile apps and curing solutions.

At the show, conference sessions and live stage presentations provided valuable operational and industry insights. Equipment demonstrations, which have been part of the trade show’s DNA since year one, entertained and educated audience members.

New to the show in 2020 was the addition of evening networking events; the events included free food, games, prizes and even a magician. Funds raised by the games were donated to Homes First. Also new at the show, was the awarding of a $2000 cash prize to this year’s Concrete Photo Challenge winner. In the first year of rewarding people who work with concrete, Tilt Wall Ontario was drawn as the winner.

“Congratulations to Tilt Wall Ontario for winning this year’s challenge,” says Galloway. “And thank you to Sunbelt Rentals for sponsoring the networking event and to Wolfhead Distillery for donating the alcohol. People had a great time.”

CCE is adding two new components to the show for 2021 that are designed to serve to very important markets within the concrete industry. CCE 2021 will feature an aggregates section and a masonry pavilion; the show will continue to offer its well-attended technology pavilion.

The show is also moving the show dates to Thursday and Friday. This gives people who fly into the show one more day at the office prior to the show and encourages attendees to tie their business trip with a weekend of enjoyment in Toronto,” says Galloway.
