The best of the best in the Central Okanagan homebuilding community, gathered at the Delta Grand Hotel on Saturday evening, in honour of the annual Tommie Awards Gala.

The coveted Tommie award has been a sign of homebuilding excellence for consumers in our area for the past 26 years, however, the new year brought the awards program an exciting revamp.

Now dubbed as the Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence, the Central Okanagan Home Builders Association, are aligning the award’s branding with their neighbors in Northern and Southwestern British Columbia.

A revamp that Chairman, Kevin Santos, agrees was needed by both recipients and consumers.

“It really signifies that the builders and the winners really provide excellence in their category,” said Santos.

According to Executive officer for the CHBA, Marika Luczi, the rebrand will only retire the name, the new awards will still carry on the legacy of excellence and respect in the industry.

From Best in Kitchen or Bathroom Design to show homes, renovations and the overall Home Of the Year, the CHBA aim to recognize high-quality work in 36 different aspects of home building.

Guests donned their finest attire and indulged in a delicious dinner while awards were handed out to deserving winners by generous sponsors.
