Black Strathcona Resurgence Vancouver Mural Fest at Solheim Place

This video features the mural work of artists Zachary George, Rachel Achus, Paige Jung, and Odera Igbokwe. This work is part of a series of murals created for Vancouver Mural Festival’s Black Strathcona Resurgence Project in 2021. The murals are displayed on the laneway side of BC Housing’s Solheim Place building at 251 Union Street in Vancouver.

The Black Strathcona Resurgence Project is meant to bring Black artist voices back to the area once known as Hogan’s Alley. The community historically shared its borders with Strathcona and Chinatown on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people.
