EllisDon Announces the Appointment of Vice-President of Health, Safety & Environment

MISSISSAUGA, ONFeb. 20, 2018 /CNW/ – EllisDon is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Chaplin to the role of Vice-President of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).

Under Steve’s direction EllisDon’s Health, Safety & Environment Department will continue to maintain its industry-wide leadership through best practices. Steve will be reporting directly to Geoff Smith, President & CEO, and will be responsible for HSE compliance through appropriate training, reporting, and program implementation.

Steve brings over 30 years of operational experience in resource based and heavy industries. His diverse background and experience focus on operations, health and safety, organizational design, environmental management, stewardship plans and working with non-government organizations. Steve has held several leadership roles in operations and HSE including executive level positions with both public and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to joining EllisDon Steve was Vice-President of Quality, HSE and Sustainability at Acciona. He was responsible for the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the company’s sustainability objectives and HSE management systems across its Canadian infrastructure division. Steve actively maintains professional development in Organizational Leadership and holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation.
