Canadian Construction Association strengthens its advocacy efforts and members services with the addition of two executives

OTTAWA, February 12, 2018 –Canadian Construction Association (CCA) announced that Rodrigue Gilbert and Janet Slavin have joined the association. “As CCA celebrates its 100 years of service in 2018, we are also looking to the future. I am delighted to announce the addition of two new executives to the team to strengthen our advocacy and member services,” said Mary Van Buren, CCA president.

Rodrigue Gilbert joins CCA as vice-president, public affairs

In the new and expanded vice-president, public affairs role, Rodrigue Gilbert will be focused on increasing CCA’s influence with the federal government, improving collaboration with CCA partner association chief operating officers and amplifying CCA’s media presence. Rodrigue is originally from Québec and comes to CCA from Sussex Strategy Group where he was senior associate. Prior to that, Rodrigue ran his own boutique government relations firm. He has held many senior positions in various government of Canada departments advising ministers. “CCA has a great reputation and is a major player in the Canadian economy,” said Rodrigue. “I’m excited to build on this to deepen the relationships with the government and to increase CCA’s profile.”

Janet Slavin joins CCA as vice-president, member value

CCA is committed to helping members in their continued success. In this newly-created vice-president, member value role, Janet Slavin will be responsible for creating an outstanding member experience and identifying new services to better position CCA members at home and globally. Janet’s broad experience with such diverse clients as Export Development Canada and the Canadian Real Estate Association will be instrumental in delivering a member-centric model. “I love it that CCA recognizes the importance of providing value to its members,” remarked Janet. “It’s a great time to join the organization and I look forward to working with my colleagues and partner associations to create outstanding results.”
